1. How long since you last won your club competition?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Brad: <\/strong>Too long to recall. My main claim to fame is winning our C Grade Club Championships back in 2006 to collect a nice trophy and make the Honours Board (such a long time ago)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. What was your Target Score and what score won your club comp?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Brad<\/strong>: Nett 68 and I had Nett 70 (82 Gross) in B Grade to run 3rd (losing 2nd spot on a count back) in our Monthly Medal Stroke event. This pushed my handicap down to 11 and now in A Grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Tell us a little about a great hole where you fought to get a point or 2 or 3 or 4.<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Brad: <\/strong>Was travelling 2 under my handicap on the back 9 when I hit the greenside bunker on Par 3, 16th. A daunting shot with compact sand, green sloping away downhill with not far to the flag. Rather than use open faced sand wedge I used lob wedge and hit it like a chip shot and miraculously got out and rolled to less than a foot and sunk the par putt. I could of easily messed the hole up and the entire round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. If you had a time machine, what hole would you play differently and how would you play it?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Brad: <\/strong>I double bogeyed the Par 5, 3rd hole after blocking my second shot (5W) to the right behind trees which blocked any chance of reaching the green in 3 and also 3 putted. Next time I\u2019d aim further left of the trees and make sure I get on for 3 and closer to the pin. This hole cost me 2nd place!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. What’s the craziest shot you have every played or seen someone play in competition?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Brad: <\/strong> I holed out for Eagle with a 6 iron on our Par 5, 15th. Aside from that I\u2019ve seen many partners hit trees and bounce back out to the middle of the fairway. Got to have some luck!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. What\u2019s the stupidest tip or advice you\u2019ve been given to improve your game?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Brad: <\/strong>Slow your swing down (it\u2019s already too slow)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Why should golfers come play your course?<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Brad: <\/strong>Charlestown Golf Club is known as the \u201cHome of Social Golf\u201d in the Newcastle region making it easy to get a game and is a great challenging course that\u2019s undergoing some renovations to make it even better and has just started construction on a new Driving Range for members and the public.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
